Thomas Sankara led a Revolution in Burkina Faso in the 1980s, as the people of that West African country struggled to overcome poverty, hunger, illiteracy, and all the ills of underdevelopment and oppression.

Murdered in a counterrevolutionary coup on October 15, 1987, his example continues to inspire millions who seek an end to the misery and injustice perpetuated by imperialism in Africa and around the world.
